Accessible Entrance 

Science Gallery Melbourne is wheelchair accessible via the guest entrance on street level on Grattan Street.

Accessing the Black Box Theatre

Black Box Theatre is located on the Basement Level of Science Gallery Melbourne. Access to B1 is via lift. Enter Science Gallery via the main guest entrance, 114 Grattan St Carlton. Proceed up the ramp adjoining the foyer, and into the Lift at the top of the ramp. Take the lift down to B1. The Black Box Theatre is located on level B1, approximately 20m from the lift entrance. Wheelchair accessible seating is available in the Black Box theatre.

Hearing Loop

The Science Gallery is equipped with a hearing loop throughout the building. Please ask our front of house staff for assistance if required.

Toilets

Wheelchair accessible amenities are located on the Basement level, which is accessible via the lift behind the main reception desk. Facilities include a baby change area.

Accessible Entrance 

Enter The Capitol Arcade from Swanston Street or Howie Place. Halfway through the arcade there’s a lift (between the jeweller and the dry cleaner). Take the lift up to The Capitol’s Foyer level. From the Foyer, a separate lift provides access to the Theatre, Salon and Lounge levels inside The Capitol.

Seating

The Capitol Theatre has eight accessible spaces, accompanied by eight companion seats. Four of these spaces are accessible from the Foyer level. The remaining four spaces are accessible from the Salon level (Level 3) via the lift. Access to the auditorium is via a lift. From the main entrance to Building 16 on Swanston Street take the lift up to level 5. The lift leads to wheelchair accessible seating in the auditorium.

Hearing Loop

Storey Hall will be equipped with a temporary hearing loop within the theatre.

Wheelchair accessible amenities are located on the third floor level. The closest Changing Places amenities are located in the Kaleide Theatre.

Access to the Studio is from the ground floor and the building is wheelchair accessible.

Accessible Entrance 

Access to the Vasey Lab is available from street level on Grattan Street. Members of the lab will greet audiences at the entrance to the Mechanical Engineering building opposite the Prince Alfred Pub.
